| We liked the "sleek" design of this dishwasher and the hidden controls but this dishwasher is the biggest hunk of junk and a total waste of money. I agree with the previous comment about the soap dispenser....we just throw a dishwashing tablet in the bottom rather than attempting to use the dispenser. That was, until the dishwasher decided not to work AT ALL. The lights on the top panel just started flashing so we called Kitchen Aid and they said to contact the Sears repair dept. The door "hinges" which are actually STRINGS broke about 6 months ago so we purchased a warranty service contract from Sears when they came to repair that problem. So we contacted them again and the technician came out and ordered 3 parts. One came within a week, the other 2 are on "indefinite backorder". After numerous phonecalls arguing with Sears (and getting hung up on 3 times while being transferred to higher-ups), we got nowhere. Tomorrow will be the 31st day without a dishwasher so now I can request a $500 credit from Sears towards a new dishwasher. Bottom line....don't waste your money on this product. |
Horrible product with no applicable "lemon law"

| Our new KitchenAid dishwasher was not cleaning dishes about 4 months after we purchased it. The repairman has been out three times to replace the soap dispenser, within the 2 months since the first outage, but in examining the design it appears that the soap dispenser is too large for the unit and has difficulty opening because of the arrangement of shelves inside. We called Kitchen Aid and they declined to provide any solution or replacement model. They are only willing to pay for repeated replacement of the soap dispenser which is inconvenient and time consuming for us. Don't buy this product and my advice is to beware of any Kitchenaid products based on the fact that they are unwilling to stand behind them and there are clear design issues with this model. |

We purchased the dishwasher 1 year ago for our kitchen remodel. It does not work; every load leaves food stuck to the dishes, even on pots/pans.
We had a warranty repair man out who told us nothing is broken, "that is the best it will work." I have tried several soap brands and running the hot water before running. Nothing.
DO NOT BUY a KitchenAid dishwasher! |
